HMF Intensive Powder provides four strains of proprietary human-sourced probiotics that promote intestinal health in children, adolescents, and adults. Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria are the most commonly used probiotics. They effectively colonize the intestines and promote healthy levels of intestinal bacteria into circulation. Probiotics reinforce the epithelial barrier and mediate intestinal permeability by controlling the integrity of tight junctions. Although the microflora composition in the gut is relatively steady, it can be altered by diet, stress, age and medication use. Probiotics promote the presence of beneficial bacteria to support normal intestinal function. In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 155 adults, daily intake of a probiotic supplement providing 25 billion CFU (containing two strains each of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium) for 21 days significantly and positively affected the intestinal microbiota.*

Recommended Use of Genestra HMF
Adults and kids (3 years and older) should mix 1 scoop of HMF intensive probiotic formula in milk or water. Consume with food once per day, and a minimum of 2-3 hours before or after any antibiotics, or as suggested by a healthcare practitioner.
If digestive problems occur or worsen after three days, stop using product and speak with a healthcare practitioner.
If the Genestra HMF Intensive Powder is not preferred there are also capsules available.

Extensive product testing and new freeze drying technology performed by Genestra,was concluded that the ice pack did not make a difference during shipping since the product potency was still well over 100% label claims when shipped with ice or no ice. The manufacturer states that it is no longer necessary to ship the HMF products with an ice pack.
It is highly recommended to take your probiotics with you on all trips and vacations since their potency will last for up to 3 months at room temperature un-refrigerated. But, when possible and if convenient, we recommend you store your probiotics in the freezer or refrigerator, especially if you plan to preserve freshness of your product for months or years.
